| Allen to be inducted into Ark. Entertainers Hall of Fame | 17 Aug 2010 |

Kris Allen will be the next entertainer inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame. Arkansas entertainers and industry-related personnel, both living and deceased, are selected by members of the Arkansas Hall of Fame Board and are inducted bi-annually into the hall. The 2010 induction class will also include motion picture and television star George Newbern. Allen will be recognized during a ceremony set for 6:45 p.m. at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock on Sept. 9, with Richard Davies, executive director of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism, serving as the master of ceremonies for the event. | 'DC Showcase' collection announced | 10 Aug 2010 |

Warner Bros has announced that it is releasing a collection of its DC Showcase animated shorts. Issued under the Warner Home Video banner, the DVD set compiles the episodes featuring Green Arrow, The Spectre and Jonah Hex. In addition, the collection will include a new and original short starring Superman, Captain Marvel and Black Adam. Jerry O'Connell, James Garner, George Newbern and Arnold Vosloo will provide voiceovers for the animation. "The DC Showcase allows us to expand the DC Universe with short stories based on intriguing characters - from a 1940s comics sensation like The Spectre to a creation of the 1970s like Jonah Hex - just begging to be presented to a very worthy fanbase," said DC's chief creative officer Geoff Johns. DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on November 9. Read more here |
